Diet by blood group

Diet by blood group

The blood group diet was first proposed by American naturopath Peter D'Adamo. His theory says that each blood group determines the resistance of the human body to various diseases. There are also useful, neutral and harmful products for each of the 4 main groups. By adhering to an optimal nutritional system, you can lose weight by blood group, increase immunity and significantly strengthen your body.

However, this theory has no scientific proof. It was composed by a naturopath according to the advice of many experienced doctors.

Essence and principles

There are 4 main blood groups in total. Peter D'Adamo divided them as follows:

  1. The first is the oldest, from which all the others started. He called such people "Hunters". It is owned by about 32% of the world's inhabitants. These people have a strong immune system, there is hardly any problem with the gastrointestinal tract. They also tend to have a fast metabolism. However, they find it difficult to rebuild their bodies for new diets. The diet for them should be abundant in meat dishes in order to constantly saturate the body with protein.
  2. The second - supposedly, it appeared when people began to cultivate the land. Therefore, the owners of this group were called "Farmers". There are about 40% of the world's population. These people have adaptive immunity. He quickly gets used to the change of scenery. Common problems for people with this blood group are disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, kidneys, liver, and gallbladder. For owners of blood group 2, you need to limit the use of animal fats and increase the amount of vegetable fiber.
  3. The third - its owners participated in the first and second. They are called "Nomads". There are about 20% of these people in the world. Its representatives have strong immunity, but they often suffer from heart and vascular problems. They are characterized by oncological diseases. The diet must be balanced. You cannot categorically refuse something.
  4. The fourth is the rarest and most recent. Its representatives are called "New People". There are no more than 8% on the whole planet. Weakness of the gastrointestinal tract, problems with the kidneys, gallbladder, genitourinary system. Various cancers are possible. It is necessary to dilute food with seafood and exclude fatty meats.

The principles are based on foods from specific blood groups. The first is characterized by a greater use of heavy foods. These are mainly pork, beef, lamb, veal, chicken.

Representatives of the second need to reduce their consumption of animal fats and proteins, while adding a large amount of greens and vegetables to their diet.

For the third, you need a mixed meal. The diet should be made up of 60% plant foods and 40% foods of animal origin. They should be careful to eat foods that contain lactose.

And for the rarest, fourth, there are many restrictions. These people must reduce their consumption of foods of animal and plant origin, by diluting their diet with seafood and dairy products.

The diet should be based on foods considered beneficial for a particular blood group. It is also allowed to use neutrals. But pests must be partially abandoned. If the daily intake of nutrients is chosen correctly, the human body will reach its optimal weight and stop at it.

It is not a diet in the usual sense, but a long term meal plan. To achieve a significant effect, it should be observed for at least 6 months.

Advantages and disadvantages

As with any long-term dietary change, Peter D'Adam's method has both positive and negative sides.

Benefits:

  1. Fractional food. You need to eat at least 5 times a day in small portions. According to most gastroenterologists and nutritionists, this is the optimal diet.
  2. The ration made for each group has the correct BJU ratio. And thanks to the authorized fruits and vegetables, it makes it balanced.
  3. Most fruits and vegetables should be eaten raw. As a result, the amount of nutrients entering the body increases.
  4. Allowed heat treatment methods are cooking, steaming and baking. Using only them, you can restore the work of the gastrointestinal tract.
  5. Without a strict product ban, you can diversify your menu.
  6. This diet not only promotes weight loss in people of different blood groups, but also reduces the risk of strokes, heart attacks, diabetes, and malignancies.

In order for the effect to be more impressive, it should be combined with sports exercises and frequent walks in the fresh air.

Advice! Peter D'Adamo recommends the proposed system not only to people with excess weight, but also to those with various disorders of the nervous system, problems with the gastrointestinal tract.

However, like any other diet, it has some drawbacks. This is because the human body is a unique structure. And what works for one may harm another.

Disadvantages:

  1. Scientific lack of confirmation of the proposed theory. It also contradicts modern concepts in dietetics.
  2. If the body lacks vitamins or microelements, Peter D'Adamo recommends replenishing them with the help of biologically active additives (food supplements). This approach has not received the approval of most scientists and physicians. This is due to the fact that the effectiveness of dietary supplements has not been proven, and the indication for their use speaks of the insufficiency of the diet.
  3. There is no guarantee that a person will be able to lose weight.

Cooking modes

The main cooking methods that are suitable for a blood group diet are cooking, boiling, and steaming. In all three cases, the food retains most of the vitamins and minerals.

If we are talking about steaming, then this is the most useful. The food turns out to be juicy, low in calories and retains all the useful elements. However, not many people like its taste.

When cooking, you should follow a rule: the more water you pour and the longer you cook, the less nutrients you get after cooking.

When cooking, you need to replace a tray under the baking dish, into which the fat will drain. So you can significantly reduce its calorie content.

  • "For a long time, I suffered from stomach and bowel problems. I have tried several diets and opted for this technique. • "The body started to malfunction at the age of 25. First the heart problems started, then the blood vessels, they gradually affected the kidneys and the liver. In search of a cure-all for this, I read a huge amount of material on the Internet. I decided to give the blood group diet a try. There were no serious restrictions which I really liked. I felt the effect after 4 months, after 8 months the visual result became noticeable. Recommend".

Get out of the diet

Earlier it was said that it is not really a diet. It is a complex of adequate nutrition, aimed at maintaining and restoring the whole body. It is best to stick to it as long as possible. But if a person cannot live with even such restrictions, then it is necessary to carefully return to junk food. You can't rush and binge. Add a few of your favorite treats to each of your daily meals.

The blood group diet does not involve strict restrictions. However, to get the result, you cannot relax and allow yourself to eat whatever you want. It is also advisable to accompany it with sports exercises.
